What is the point of learning Real Estate SEO (aka Search Engine Optimization) as a Real Estate Professional?

The point is to learn how to rank on top of search engines for key phrases that relate to your business, ultimately for the purpose of generating listings for your Real Estate business and/or growing your client base.

Yet a lot of agents will want to outsource this process, simply because they are “not techies” or they simply are too lazy to learn the process.

Well what if I told you that Real Estate SEO is a lot simpler than you think?

What if I told you that after learning Real Estate SEO, I now generate thousands of leads per month and 5 streams of passive income online, while scheduling multiple listing appointments a week?

Tell me, wouldn’t you rather learn how to fish then pay premium for fish that you could catch in your own backyard?

If you have a computer, an internet connection and at least a high school education, you can do Real Estate SEO yourself.

Imagine having the skills to be able to research and identify the best keywords for generating all kinds of leads. Then imagine being able to take those leads and either sell them something, or compell them to contact you for your services. Now imagine all of this happening on complete autopilot.

This is the kind of stuff that I do on a daily basis with my own blog, SeattleShortSaleBlog.com. Go ahead, take a look at the website and see for yourself. My blog is basically a profit and lead generating machine, and it makes me multiple streams of income while attracting quality prospects for my real estate business on a daily, sometimes even hourly basis.

When you become a master of Real Estate SEO, the world becomes accessible to you literally at the touch of a button. You’ll begin to learn how to attract very specific leads for your business on complete autopilot. For example, say your goal with your website is to get listings for your short sale business in Seattle. Your goal then would be to rank on top of search engines, including Google, for keywords such as:

Seattle Short Sales, Seattle Foreclosures, Washington Short Sales, Short Sale Agents in Seattle, Short Sale Specialists in Seattle…

…so on and so forth.

When you rank on top of search engines for multiple keywords such as these, you get the most qualified prospects for your business. Why? Because they are searching for exactly what you provide.

Think about how ineffective most real estate ads are (ie. bill boards, real estate signs, bumper stickers, newspapers, etc.) How many of the people who see these ads are looking for your exact services? All these advertisements do is shove your services in front of the faces of people who may or may not have any desire to work with you.

But when you master Real Estate SEO, you essentially learn the secret to “lazer targeting” your leads down to the most qualified candidates for your business, yes, people who are actively pursuing the very things that you offer.

How cool is that?

Click here to learn Real Estate SEO, generate leads for your business and make multiple streams of passive income.

Enough of the funny business. You need to learn these skill in order to succeed, and when you do, you won’t simply “succeed,” you’ll prosper. Big time.

Before describing the “how”, allow me to first answer the “why.”

Why would you want to generate endless foreclosure leads on auto-pilot?

Because homeowners in foreclosure are in need of multiple services, such as the services of a real estate agent, attorney, credit counselor, loan modification expert or short sale negotiator.

Now if you provide these services, given that your services are top notch and based on a high level of integrity, you could make a lot of money helping a whole lot of people. This is what members of the Short Sale Blog Ring do. We are group of realtors that generate foreclosure leads for the purpose of informing them, listing their properties as short sales and/or selling them multiple different services (like the ones mentioned above) all through a single blog. And we get paid handsomely for doing so. Check out SeattleShortSaleBlog.com for a live example of what we do.

So let’s get to the point. How do you generate foreclosure leads on auto-pilot?

You do this by setting up a website with dynamic content (ie. a blog) and reaching out to your target market as an expert and not a salesmen. The last thing you want to do is to set up a “retail website” that screams out “use me as a Realtor” or “buy my stuff.” Instead, you will be most successful generating quality foreclosure or preforeclosure leads by establishing yourself as an expert and providing free, valuable content for your target market. You can accomplish this with a blog.

Once you provide content, people will come, and if the content is informative, valuable & accurate, people will trust you. Only when you win the trust of the online community are you in a position to recommend your services for people to purchase.

Now there are some key steps in there that you absolutely must take if you ever want your website to get in front of thousands of people a month (like mine). One of these steps is keyword research, and the other is Search Engine Optimization. What does this mean? Basically, you need to learn how to put yourself in the shoes of your target audience. Then, figure out a list of keywords that your target audience would search for on Google. After you have your list, make sure that everytime your target audience gets on Google that YOU are ranked #1 or #2 for everything they are searching for.

While this sounds simple, it takes a bit of in-depth, insider knowledge to really grasp the concept and implement into your marketing strategy.

Well, here’s the good news. I teach a lot of this stuff…for free.

Check out the Short Sale Blog Ring (<— click this link) and see for youself.

First, if you haven’t already done so, make sure you give your blog a physical location.

Click here to access the “how to” guide for giving yourself a physical address on Google

Make sure that your physical address matches your URL, so if you own “HoustonShortSaleBlog.com,” make sure your address is in Houston and not another nearby city.

Now, I’m going to give you three steps to generating short sale leads by dominating google keywords.

1. Use a keyword research tool

2. Research a couple keywords you think your target market is going to Google. For example, “short sale agent.” If it shows up, then it’s a good keyword (even if it shows a low daily search) and you’ll want to blog about it.

Important: If you haven’t already done so, make sure you write a blog post with a title containing “your city” and “short sales,” for example: “How to Successfully Negotiate Houston Short Sales” or “How to Hire a Houston Short Sale Expert For Free.” In that blog post, you can promote your negotiators and their track records or discuss the pitfalls of trying to do a short sale on their own.

Alternatively, you can take the “old school” but effective method of simply going to google and inputting keywords you think your target market would use. I did this with “how to waive a deficiency”. If you Google that phrase, you’ll see two of my articles on the front page:

Top 5 Ways to Negotiate & Waive a Short Sale Deficiency Balance

and..

How to Negotiate & Waive a Short Sale Deficiency Balance

Isn’t that cool? I did that in ONE week. It’s important to remember that the more traffic you have on your blog, the higher your blog will show up when people are seeking “your city” & short sales. These are the secrets to taking over your short sale market.

3. Double up on your posts. What I mean by this is that you’ll want to create a “short but sweet” version of every post, rearrange the wording a little bit (while using the same keywords) and post the shorter version in an article directory website like Ezine.com. Go to the SEO Tools Section for more information on Article Marketing.

After taking over multiple keywords (including “your city” & “short sales’), you’ll begin driving traffic all over the web, which will raise your ranks in Google and make you even more visible in front of thousands of motivated sellers looking for a real estate professional in your area!

The way to begin driving solid, local leads to your blog is to take over your local market.

For more tips and tools for optimizing your website, click the “SEO tools” above.

First:

Make sure your domain name contains the name of a city or a county and the word “short sale.” For example, “LosAngelesShortSales.com” or “MiamiShortSaleBlog.com”. For demonstration purposes, let’s work with OlympiaShortSales.com

Second:

Register your blog on Google Local Business Center and give your blog a physical address (can be the address of your office or even your home.)

Third:

Have the phrase “Olympia Short Sales” written all over your blog, from your header, yours posts and even in your footer if possible. People will google their “city” and “short sales”. This is the most common search that drives traffic to my blog.

Fourth:

Use a Keyword Tool and begin coming up with a list of keywords related to short sales, loan modifications and foreclosure.

Then, use those keywords as much as possible (without sounding redundant) when writing your posts. This tool can also help you identify the “hottest topics” that people are searching, so that you can eventually write about it.

Fifth:

Use the SEO & Marketing tips available on your dashboard, provided by our very own Realivent CMS platform.

Again, for more SEO tools, click on the SEO tool link above.

Go drive traffic!
